For the first time since 2019, the Holton volleyball has qualified for state. The start of the day turned out to be the most challenging for the Wildcats as the #9 seed in sub state lost their opening game of the day to #8 seed Parsons 25-19.  As it turned out, the underdogs would not drop another set the rest of the day. The Holton team comprised of eight seniors took their game to another level and refused to let their season come to an end.

Holton responded to beat Parsons 25-20 and 25-15 earning them a spot in the Sub-State Championship against the host and #1 overall seed in Class 4A.  Holton had also lost to Rock Creek in late September in straight sets 25-13 and 25-14. However the Lady Cats were locked in and loaded and never blinked in pulling off the upset in straight sets 25-21 and 25-17 against the Mustangs.

Holton has been coming on strong down the stretch going 12-2 in their last 14 games and only losing to Nemaha Central twice. The Cats record is now 25-15 on the season.

They will be the number 7 seed in the 4A State Tournament and have pool play games scheduled for Friday in Hutchison at 4:30 vs. # 2 seed Circle, 5:30 vs. #3 seed McPherson and then at 7:30 vs. # 6 seed Louisburg. State games will be broadcast live on KNZA 103.9 FM and MSC Sports.
