Sabetha head football coach Garrett Michael has been selected as an assistant coach for the upcoming 51st Kansas Shrine Bowl. 

Michael represents Class 2A and will be on the East sideline along with other assistants Steve Buhler (6A - Washburn Rural), Jason Swift (5A - Shawnee Heights), Preston Troyer (4A - Tonganoxie), Mark Smith (3A - Frontenac), and Shawn Seematter (1A - St. Mary’s Colgan). 

Michael was also on the staff in 2018 which was the last time that the East defeated the West. Michael led the Bluejays this season to a 10-2 record with a runner-up finish in both the Big 7 and District standings along with another run to the Sub-State round. 

The coaches were selected based on success from the 2023 season, eligibility limitations, and availability. The 51st Kansas Shrine Bowl game will be played on Saturday, June 29th, 2024 at 7:00 PM at Emporia State University.
