The Lady Kaws (3-1, 1-0) jumped out to an early lead and led the game 21-14 at halftime and 38-26 going into the fourth quarter.

The Lady Tigers (1-3, 1-2) had some opportunities in the fourth quarter to get back in the game and give themselves a chance but were unsuccessful as the Kaws were able to hold on for the win.

Taylor Damme entered the game for Perry-Lecompton averaging over 16 points and seven rebounds per game and she ended the night with 23 points and six steals.

Jefferson West got 19 points from Kinley Stones and nine points from Ella Dickey but the Tigers ended the game with 26 turnovers.

The Perry-Lecompton boys (2-2, 1-0) jumped out to an early 9-1 lead in the first quarter before the Tigers (2-2, 2-1) got back to within 13-10 early in the second quarter.

The Kaws led the game 24-15 at halftime and 37-22 going into the fourth quarter. The Kaws built a lead as high as 17 early in the fourth quarter and it was to much for the Tigers to overcome.

Balanced scoring for the Kaws with Eli Dean finishing with 10 points, Cooper Trendel added nine points and eight rebounds, and Tyler Reed also finished with nine points but fouled out early in the fourth quarter.

Jefferson West was led in scoring by Jason Payne who finished with nine points while Caleb Morse added seven points off the bench.

Up next for both on Friday, Perry-Lecompton is back at home taking on Nemaha Central while Jefferson West will be on the road at Sabetha.
