The Kansas Basketball Coaches Association have released their week three rankings for Dec. 12th.
The Nemaha Central girls dropped to #10 in Class 3A after being inside the top five for the first couple of weeks of the season. The Thunder are 3-1 coming off back-to-back wins against Holton and Hiawatha.
The Riverside girls stay true at #2 in Class 2A as the Cyclones are off to a 4-0 start with wins in the last week over Jefferson West and Sabetha.
The Valley Heights girls are in the ranks for the first time this season at #10 in Class 2A as they're off to a 4-0 start and coming off a 44-41 win over Frankfort on Tuesday night.
Speaking of Frankfort, they remain #2 in Class 1A-I as the loss to Valley Heights was their first of the season and sit with a 4-1 overall record. Clifton-Clyde is ranked #3 and are off to a 5-0 start while Doniphan West (3-1) and Centralia (3-1) are ranked #5 and #8 respectively.
The Atchison boys remain #3 in Class 4A as the Phoenix are 4-0 and are ranked behind only McPherson and Hugoton. Atchison has scored 72, 78, 57, and 70 points in their first four games of the season.
The Marysville boys are up a few spots to #4 in Class 3A and are 4-1 to start the season. The Bulldogs are coming off their first loss which was a 54-52 final in overtime to Concordia.
The Clifton-Clyde boys are ranked #6 in Class 1A-I and are off to a 4-1 start with their lone loss of the season coming against Sacred Heart in the opener. Frankfort has entered the ranks for the first time this season as they are #9. The Wildcats are 3-2 coming off back-to-back wins over Wabaunsee and Valley Heights.
The Axtell boys have moved up and are ranked #1 in Class 1A-II for the first time this season. The Eagles are 3-0 and coming off an 82-35 win on Tuesday night over Pike Valley.
