Kansas Basketball Coaches Association Week Four Rankings

The Kansas Basketball Coaches Association have released their week four rankings as most teams have now hit the Holiday Break. 

The Nemaha Central girls are up a few spots to #7 in Class 3A as they're 5-1 overall and 4-0 in Big 7 league play. The Thunder have won four straight games since their lone loss to St. Marys. 

The Riverside girls are #1 in Class 2A for the first time this season after being ranked #2 for the first few weeks of the season. The Cyclones are perfect at 6-0 led by reigning SIK 2A Player of the Year and Central Missouri commit Taylor Weishaar. 

The Valley Heights girls remain in the rankings at #8 in Class 2A. The Mustangs are a perfect 5-0 and have posted back-to-back wins over top tier teams in Frankfort and Doniphan West. 

The Maur Hill-Mount Academy girls have entered the Class 2A rankings for the first time this season as they are #10. The Ravens are 5-0 and the closest game they've had so far this season is 10 points which was a 50-40 win at Jefferson County North. 

The Clifton-Clyde girls are up to #2 in Class 1A-I behind only Little River. The Eagles have dominated winning their first seven games and added a preseason tournament win at Herington. 

The Frankfort girls are down a couple of spots in Class 1A-I as they are ranked #4. The Wildcats are 5-1 and bounced back with a win over Blue Valley following their lone loss of the season to Valley Heights. 

The Doniphan West and Centralia girls round out the TVL ranked teams in 1A-I at #7 and #8 respectively. The defending State Champs in Doniphan West are 4-2 overall but both losses have come against ranked opponents. The Panthers lost their first game of the season to Nemaha Central and have since won five straight games heading into the break. 

The Hanover girls remain #1 in Class 1A-II as they are 3-1 to start the season. The Wildcats lone loss was against Little River, who's #1 in 1A-I. The Linn girls are up to #5 in 1A-II as they are off to a 4-1 start with their lone loss coming against Clifton-Clyde. 

The Atchison boys hold their spot at #3 in Class 4A this week and the Phoenix have been dominant early. Atchison is 6-0 and they are averaging well over 70 points per game and they've also posted 90 and 91 points respectively in their last two games against Sumner Academy and Wyandotte. 

The Marysville boys are ranked #5 in Class 3A as they are off to a 5-1 start. The lone loss for the Bulldogs was against NCKL foe Concordia in what was a 54-52 final in overtime. They also have notable early season wins over Sabetha, Hiawatha, and Valley Heights. 

The Clifton-Clyde and Frankfort boys continue to represent the TVL in Class 1A-I. The Eagles are ranked #6 and have won six straight games since their lone loss of the season to 2A #10 Sacred Heart. The Wildcats dropped a few spots to #9 and are 3-3 overall coming off a loss in their last game against Blue Valley. 

The Axtell boys remained the top team in Class 1A-II for a second straight week. The Eagles have dominated their first five opponents winning by an average of 32 points per game. The Hanover boys are #4 in 1A-II as they're undefeated at 4-0. They got one more game on Dec. 21st against Diller-Odell before hitting the break.
