Full Rossville Wrestling Tournament Results; Sabetha Boys Take Home First Place

The Sabetha boys were victorious at this past weekend’s wrestling tournament in Rossville. The Bluejays combined for 210 points, 16.5 points ahead of second-place Santa Fe Trail.

ACCHS finished in fourth place as a team, Nemaha Central placed fifth, Pleasant Ridge finished ninth and Maur Hill-Mount Academy placed tenth.

Keaton Rottinghaus of Nemaha Central placed first in the 113-weight class with Lincoln Menold of Sabetha placing second.

Caleb Renyer of Sabetha won the 126-pound weight class with a 4-3 decision in the finals.

Sabetha’s Cullen Wikle finished second in the 132-pound weight class.

In the 138-pound class, Austin Smith from ACCHS finished in second place.

Colin Menold from Sabetha placed first in the 150-pound weight class with a 9-4 decision in the championship match against Max Bottorff of ACCHS.

Easton Schletzbaum of ACCHS was victorious in the 157-pound weight class. He defeated Mason Ewert of Pleasant Ridge in the finals.

Nemaha Central’s Abram Keim won the 165-pound weight class by winning the final match by pinfall in 4:44.

John McEvoy from Pleasant Ridge finished in second as he made it to the championship match before losing by a 7-1 decision in the 190-pound weight class.

Joshua Grimm of Sabetha won the 285-pound weight class over Holden Bass of Nemaha Central by a tightly contested 2-1 decision.

In the girls’ tournament, Jefferson West finished in third place with 118 team points. Sabetha placed sixth, and ACCHS got eighth place.

Renae Keim of Nemaha Central placed first in the 100-pound weight class, winning by pinfall in 1:54.

Holly Thacher from Oskaloosa continued her solid season with a championship appearance in the 115-pound class. She would place second by a 6-2 decision.

Jefferson West’s Sophie Waters finished second in the 120-pound class after winning three matches by pinfall but falling short in the finals.

In the 125-pound weight class, Mya Vetsch of Jefferson West finished runner-up.

Skyy Hepner dominated her way to a first-place finish in the 130-pound weight class with all three of her matches being by pinfall and taking less than two minutes.

Nakita Lawrence of Sabetha won first place in the 140-pound weight class.

Lucy Henderson from Jefferson West made a fierce run to second place in the 155-pound class.

Hannah Simmers of ACCHS won all three of her matches to give her first place in the 170-pound weight class.

Her teammate, Taylor Keimig, got second place in the 190-pound weight class.

Sabetha’s Holidae Banfield was victorious in all of her matches in the 235-pound weight class, taking home first place.
