Onaga enters into the Centralia field with a twenty-one-game losing streak to the Panthers dating back to 1998, and after tonight's 42-6 win for the Panthers, that streak will look to continue for another year. Onaga was entering the night averaging 30 points per game, and Centralia was averaging 13 points per game, both teams just came off a tough loss in week two.

The Panthers elect to defer, and the Buffaloes are out to the races on their first offensive drive. In the drive, the Buffaloes managed to convert a fourth-and-two from their territory to sustain a drive. However, Onaga was approached with another fourth-and-two, this time on Centralia’s twelve-yard line. Parker Koch for the Panthers snuck into the backfield and made the play on Gavin Kolterman, the Buffalo running back who received the direct snap, and after the turn-over-on-downs, it was all Centralia.

The first half ended 28-0, despite only having a total of three possessions in the first half for the Panthers, they reached the end zone four times. Onaga turned the ball over twice in the first quarter: once off a blocked punt that set up a Jacob Flentie 25-yard touchdown run and a fumble on a kickoff that allowed Degan Ronnebaum to sneak his way into the endzone like a thief in the night, unnoticed. The other two first-half touchdowns came from the first drive being capped off with a 6-yard touchdown run from Jacob Flentie to start the scoring, then the last touchdown of the half with about a four-minute drive ending in the hands of Henry Heideman from five yards out.

The second half started with a five-minute drive that finished with one of the best pass connections of the season between Jacob Flentie and Isaac Reineke from twelve yards out, Reineke also caught an absolute missile into his chest for the two-point conversion. Jacob Flentie finished the night with three total touchdowns and over 160+ offensive yards total.  He also helped the Panthers go three of five on two-point conversations.

The final scorers of the game came from first Henry Hiedeman, putting up his second touchdown of the night from three yards out of the goal line, Hiedeman helped put the Panthers up 42-0 and start the running clock. The only touchdown that came from Onaga was Jackson Kolterman, who led a solid drive, ending with him busting out a 39-yard touchdown run down the sideline. Despite the loss, Onaga still had great rushing stats, with Jackson Kolterman having over 110+ yards rushing.

Despite the spurts of solid drives, they just couldn’t be finished by Onaga, and as for the Panthers, they took any opportunity available as a chance to score. The Panthers did struggle with penalties all night with numerous blocks in the backs and holdings, Centralia also couldn’t get the deep ball going either but still managed a dominant win nonetheless.

The Panthers will now move up to 2-1 on the year and 2-0 in league play, set to host their last league opponent next week in the Doniphan West Mustangs. As for Onaga, their league play has now wrapped up, finishing 1-2 in the league play, with their sole win being a 40-0 blank against Doniphan West, the Buffaloes are also now 1-2 on the season and will try to bounce back next week against Valley Falls.
