The Jefferson West girls basketball team opened their 2024-2025 season on Friday night with a 56-25 win at Valley Falls.
Both teams struggled on offense out of the gate with the Tigers leading the game 8-4 after one quarter.
Jeff West put together their best offensive quarter in the second as they outscored the Dragons 23-6 and would lead the game by 21 points at halftime and would not look back.
Three players in double figures for the Tigers with Emmie Dean and Kolbie Noel both finishing the game with 11 points while Kaylee Heinen added 10 points.
Cali Delong led the Dragons with nine points. The Tigers were able to hit some shots from the outside as they hit seven three-pointers in the game.
There were a lot of free throws and a lot of turnovers. Unofficially the two teams combined for 57 turnovers and 49 free throw attempts.
