Holton Girls and Sabetha Boys Victorious in Big East League Doubleheader

The Holton girls and Sabetha boys were victorious on Tuesday night with the girls final 40-11 and the boys final 53-37. 

Girls: Holton 40, Sabetha 11

Both teams struggled to find some offense early especially the Bluejays. Holton led the game 8-2 after the first quarter and would put the game away essentially in the second quarter. 

The Wildcats outscored the Bluejays 17-0 in the second quarter and led the game 25-2 at halftime. 

All eight players that saw action for Holton were able to score as they were led by Kaiya Taylor with nine points, Lili Tanking with seven points, and Brooke Willcott and Elizabeth Schuster each adding six points. 

Keira Keim and Paxton Michael each scored three points to lead the Bluejays. 

Boys: Holton 37, Sabetha 53

The difference in this game was the fourth quarter. Holton led 15-14 after the first quarter and the game was tied at 23 at halftime. 

The Wildcats would hold a slight lead of 35-34 going into the fourth quarter. To that point in the game, there were multiple lead changes and no team had a lead bigger than four. 

The Bluejays would dominate the fourth quarter outscoring Holton 19-2 to get the win. 

Brody Deters led Sabetha with 15 points and six rebounds while Kyler Wenger and Mitchel Kramer each finished with 11 points. 

Bodie Dillon led Holton with 12 points while Korben Fox finished the game with 11 points. Brayden Peek added seven points and seven rebounds.
