The Silver Lake girls basketball team traveled to Nemaha Central on Friday night and were able to come away with a 44-39 win.
The Eagles (12-2, 7-1), ranked #3 in Class 3A, trailed by one after the first quarter but outscored NC (10-5, 7-1) 12-4 in the second quarter to lead the game 24-17 at halftime.
Nemaha Central had 14 turnovers in the first half compared to just three for Silver Lake.
The Eagles put together another solid defensive quarter outscoring the Thunder 11-6 in the third and led the game by 12 going into the fourth quarter.
The Thunder slowly made a run throughout the fourth quarter and made Silver Lake work but the Eagles were able to hold on.
Silver Lake got 12 points from both Karys Deiter and Paige Heiman while Kailyn Hanni added eight points along with Jaylie Whitehead.
Nemaha Central was led by Cami Dalinghaus with 18 points and five rebounds while Cali Honeyman added nine points and six rebounds.
