Creighton Junior Doug McDermott has won his second consecutive Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year Award.  Bill Pollock has more.  ( play audio :25 seconds ) 

McDermott was also named First Team All-MVC for the third time. 

McDermott ranks second nationally in scoring average (23.4) and points scored (724) and is first with 252 field goals. He was named MVC Player of the Week a record eight times National Player of the Week twice. 

McDermott has been named a finalist for several National Player of the Year accolades, and last month became the first junior in league history to be reach 2,000 career points.
