The Falls City Blue Storm took on another NEK legion team Wednesday, while Doniphan County took to the field in their first game of the season.  Falls City held on for the 4-3 road win.

The Blue Storm traveled to Wathena and got the scoring going early plating all four of their runs in the first inning off of three hits and and error in the inning. Doniphan County fought back to produce four hits in the game but only manage to recover three runs, tallying all three in the bottom of the fourth.

The matchup proved to be a pitching dual between Derek Bippes for Falls City who earned the win and Dylan Gabriel who took the loss for Doniphan County. Offensively, the Blue Storm registered two extra base hits of the three total hits as Chaz Dunn and Reese Hogue each had a double and RBI. For, Doniphan County Quenton Mungen, Phoenix Keller and Colton Mungen each tallied an RBI in the contest.

With the loss Doniphan County starts the season 0-1 and will look to earn their first win against league opponent Seneca in a double header on Sunday in Wathena. The win for Falls City improves them to 3-0 on the season as they now turn their attention to tournament action as they will participate in the Calvert Sheridan Sr/Jr Tournament at Auburn starting on Saturday May 25th.
