(KTNC) - Starting pitcher Byron Hood threw a no-hitter, and top-seed Hickman Post 105 stormed into the championship game of the B1 Senior Legion Area Tournament, with a 10-0 victory over Falls City Sunday night at SNC Field.
Hickman got on the board with two runs in the bottom of the second inning, then took advantage of three Falls City errors to score three unearned runs in the third.  They added three more in the fifth on a Trey Hair three-run homer.  The game ended on the 10-run rule on a Brady Johnson RBI double in the sixth.
Falls City's best scoring opportunity came in the first inning, when the Blue Storm loaded the bases with two outs but were unable to bring anyone in.
The win is the third straight shutout in the tournament for Hickman, which has outscored its opponents 30-0 in three games.
Falls City will play Auburn at 7:00 p.m. Monday night, with the winner to take on Hickman in the Tournament championship game at 5:30 Tuesday evening.
Auburn stayed alive in the tournament with a 3-2 win over Beatrice Sunday afternoon.  TJ Standerford pitched six innings for the win, and John Lambert came on to get the final three outs for the save.  Beatrice was able to get the tying run into scoring position in the 7th.
Joe Nelson led the Auburn offense with three hits and an RBI.
This will be the second game in the tournament between Falls City and Auburn.  The Blue Storm defeated Auburn 7-2 Saturday night.
