(KTNC) - Hickman Post 105 sailed into the American Legion Class B State Tournament with an 11-0 victory over Falls City in the championship game of the B1 Area Tournament. 
Falls City threatened in the top of the first against the top-seeded Hickman team, putting runners at first and third with one out on singles by Chaz Dunn and Jordy Stoller.  But Hickman starting pitcher Payton Kinney was able to get out of the jam, striking out Chase Thompson and Derek Bippes to end the frame.
The rest of the game was all Hickman.  They scored three runs on just one hit in the bottom of the first, added five runs in the second, and three more in the third.
Falls City managed just one more hit the rest of the way, a Lane Scheitel single in the 5th.  Hickman finished with 11 runs on 8 hits.  Payton Kinney pitched four innings to earn the win.  Falls City starter Reese Hogue took the loss.
The game was the fourth shutout of the tournament for Hickman, which outscored its opponents by a combined score of 41-0.  They advance to the Class B State Tournament, beginning Saturday, at Oregon Trail Park in Gering.
