JCC Hosts Track Invitational

(KTNC) -  Several teams competed at the Johnson County Invitational Track meet Friday.
 Syracuse was the boys’ team champion with 126 points. Falls City Sacred Heart had 103 points for 2nd place, with Wilber-Clatonia 3rd, Louisville 4th, and JCC 5th. Palmyra, Elmwood-Murdock, Weeping Water, Lincoln Southwest, and Conestoga round out the team standings.
 Sacred Heart got first place finishes from Yianni Haralabidis in the 100-meter dash and Austin Malone in the triple jump – part of a 1-2-3 Irish finish in that event.
 Haralabidis, Malone, Sawyer Kean, and Chaz Dunn teamed to win the 4-by-100-meter relay; and Dunn, Kean, Malone, and Henry Arnold won the 4-by-400 relay.
 JCC got one first place finish, with Jay Kuhns wining the pole vault.
 Syracuse got first place finishes from Turner Moore in the 110-hurdles, Matt Clark in the discus, Zach Heitkamp in the shot put, and Jake Heitkamp in the high jump. Syracuse also won the 4-by-800-meter relay.

 Wilber-Clatonia was the girls’ team champion with 117.5 points just ahead of second place Syracuse with 116 points. Sacred Heart totaled 37 points for 7th place and JCC was 8th with 36.5 points.
 Individually, Sacred Heart got two first place finishes, with Jade Hill winning the triple jump and Haylee Heits first in the shot put.
 Hanna Borrenpohl of JCC won the 200-meter dash.
 Emily Harsin of Syracuse won both the 100 and 300-meter hurdles, Haley Harsin won the 800-meter run, Julia Reed won the long jump, and Sarah Antes won the pole vault.
