(KLZA)-- The Mound City Panther girls and boys basketball teams are fighting for District championships this week at Rock Port High School. 

The Missouri Districts continue Thursday night in Class 1. 

In District 16 Tournament Girls semifinal action at Rock Port at 6 p-m, top seed Mound City (24-1) will take on #5 seed Nodaway-Holt (16-11). You can hear the game live on SUNNY 101.3.

At 7:15 p-m #2 seed South Nodaway (19-7) plays #3 seed North Andrew (20-5).  The winners meet Saturday night at 6 p-m for the District championship.

The District 16 boys title game will be played Friday night at 6 p-m at Rock Port.  #6 seed Mound City (12-14) will take on top seed North Andrew (22-5).

The District 16 champions will play the District 15 title winners in the sectional round Tuesday, March 1st at St. Joe Civic Arena.  That round is followed by the Quarterfinal game Saturday, March 5th at St. Joe LeBlond High School.  The semifinals would be Thursday, March 10th in Columbia.
