Highland CC Volleyball Goes 4-0 at Panther Invite

Highland Community College volleyball team rolled to a 4-0 at the Panther Invite in Chanute on Friday and Saturday winning all four matches in three straight sets. 

On Friday the tournament action started for the Scotties with a matchup against Southeast Community College and Highland posted a 25-20, 25-14, 25-8 victory. Former ACCHS Tiger, Shailey Caudle led the Scotties with 12 kills and added six digs, while Emily Nelson had 11 digs to lead the team. Leslie Polanco finished the match with nine kills, five aces and five digs, while former Holton Wildcat, Megan Rhule had 30 assists and 10 digs. 

To finish the day on Friday the Scotties took on Ottawa University JV and notched a three set win 25-21, 25-22, 30-28. Caudle again led the Scotties in kills with 14 and recorded eight digs, while Polanco chipped in 10 kills and 13 digs. Rhule set her teammates up with 34 assists and had nine digs. 

On Saturday Highland took on McCook Community College and Allen County Community College winning in three sets each time. Against McCook the Scotties won 25-12, 25-21, 25-14 as Caudle posted 11 kills with Tyrecia Lukes tallying 10. Both Josie Vitosh and Nelson recorded 10 digs each and Rhule had 34 assists. In the final matchup of the Panther Invite for Highland it was a 25-14, 25-17, 25-18 win over Allen County. Lukes led the team in kills with 14 in the win, while Rhule notched 31 assists and 10 digs. 

The 4-0 weekend moved Highland to 17-5 on the season and extend their winning streak to eight matches the longest of the season. The Scotties welcome Neosho County Community College to town for their next contest on Wednesday, October 5th at 5:30pm.
