Highland lady Scotties basketball team continued to roll improving to 5-0 on the season with a 102-38 rout of Missouri Valley College junior varsity on Thursday night. 

The second ranked Scotties led 25-9 after just the first quarter and held Missouri Valley to single digit points in the second and third quarters also cruising to the win. Highland shot 52% from the floor in the game and forced 29 turnovers on the contest to help guide them to the victory. 

Freshman, Marianne Carvalho led the team with 23 points on 10-15 shooting, while sophomore, Szonja Vukov added her second double-double of the season posting 15 points and 10 rebounds, while adding four assists and four steals to her line for the night. Sophomore and Topeka native, Imani Simmons chipped in 13 points and sophomore, Ashlyn McDonald scored 12 points. Former Valley Heights Mustang Sidney Blackburn added 12 points going 5-7 from the floor and had three steals. 

The Scotties will take on Missouri Valley College junior varsity again in their next contest coming up on Monday, November 14th at 7:00pm on the road.
