As the league tournament approaches later this week in Onaga, TVL teams meet up against each other on the golf course on Monday as part of the Linn Invitational.

The Buffaloes of Onaga topped their TVL foes on the day with the best team score besting Valley Heights by only six strokes for first place with a 363, while the Mustangs posted a 369. Vermillion (Centralia & Frankfort) followed in third place tallying a 385 on the day, while Linn finished fourth (394), Baileyville-B&B took fifth (410) and Washington rounded out the teams in sixth (418).

Onaga shot their way to the win behind three top 10 individual finishes on the day with Mitchell Kufahl leading the way registering the best round of the day with an 85, but finishing second after a tie-breaker. Lucas Helget followed Kufahl in third place with a round of 86, while Devin Schlegel grabbed a ninth place finish after shooting a 93. Matt Marten finished off the Buffaloes 4-man team score of 363 with a round of 99.

Linn, although finishing fourth as a team had three players finish in the top 10 individually lead by a fourth place finish by Kyle Kolle who shot an 87. Zac Voelker and Blaine Joonas for the Bulldogs each grabbed top 10 finishes, too after each shooting an 90 in the days action, giving them sixth and seventh place, respectively.

Just like Onaga and Linn, Valley Heights, too placed three individuals in the top 10 individually at the Linn Invite. Brenden Dobrovolny lead the Mustangs with a fifth place finish after a round of 88, while Alec Doner and Patrick Hale placed eighth and tenth, respectivley with rounds of 91 and 93.

That left only one top 10 spot open and it went to Vermillion's, Ryan Vernon who for the second straight golf tournament came out on top individually, this time shooting an 85 and winning the tie-breaking with Onaga's Kufahl.

TVL teams now turn their attention to the league tournament in Onaga this Friday and then Regionals on Monday, May 13th.
