All the teams across the state of Kansas have their mind fully on district action now in the football season as we head into week seven of action as teams start to think playoffs with district play. As it has been all season four area teams continue to dominate the latest high school football polls across the state, while multiple others are gaining momentum and getting looks towards cracking the top five in their classifications.

The polls continue to house three area teams in the number one spot in their classes with Holton, Centralia-Wetmore and B&B.

In Class 4A the Holton Wildcats continued to remain unbeaten with a 40-20 win over Jeff West this past week to win their 38th straight Big Seven league game and sixth straight league title and remained unbeaten on the season at 6-0. Wildcats next turn their attention to district play that doesn't look easy as Holton will play host to an unbeaten number five Wamego squad this week and then take a tough 3-3, Hayden team on the road on the 25th, before wrapping up the regular season with a home game against Royal Valley.

The Jeff West Tigers continue to receive votes in Class 4A polls as they are 5-1 on the season and stumbled for the first time this year with the 40-20 loss to Holton. The Tigers open district play on the road at Basehor-Linwood, then have Tonganoxie and Perry Lecompton at home to close the regular season.

No teams have been able to break into the top five in Class 3A but the Raiders of Nemaha Valley and Riverside Cyclones have started the season strong and continue to receive votes. The Raiders are off to a 5-1 start and continued to find ways to win in using all facets of the game beating Sabetha 28-21 in their recent game and are just a few points off of being unbeaten on the season. Nemaha Valley opens district play at Riley County this week, then head to Rock Creek and wrap up the season at home versus Marysville.

Riverside Cyclones cruised to another win last week dispatching Onaga 62-13 to move to 6-0 on the season, starting the year just like last year. Unlike last year the Cyclones look to continue that momentum into district play and find themselves in the playoffs this year. Riverside opens district play with a home matchup against Sabetha this week, featured on 103.9 KNZA and then will have games at Hiawatha and Horton to close out the regular season.

The Centralia-Wetmore Panthers continued to dominate the top of the polls in Class 2-1A like they have been dominating their opponents this season, beating ACCHS 48-0 this past week to move to 6-0. Panthers have one district win under their belt already and take on the other unbeaten district team in Troy this week on the road. Centralia-Wetmore still have games at home against Doniphan West and at Jackson Heights left on the docket, too this season.

Both Troy and Jackson Heights continue to gain attention in Class 2-1A also, as both are receiving votes across the State. The Troy Trojans are fresh off a 15-14 district win over Valley Heights and are 2-0 in the district and 4-2 overall on the season. Trojans welcomed in Tristan Speer to the team last week and he made an immediate impact for Troy to help them to the victory. Trojans take on Centralia this week at home then have Immaculata at home and Doniphan West on the road for the rest of the season. For Jackson Heights they bounced back this past week from their first loss of season with a 48-6 win over Doniphan West to move to 5-1 on the season. The Cobras go out of district this week going on the road to take on Jefferson County North, before wrapping up the season at Valley Heights and at home versus Centralia.

The McLouth Bulldogs also have started to receive votes in some polls across the State as they are 4-2 after a dominating 50-7 win over Jefferson County North. Bulldogs the play host the Oskaloosa Bears this week in a crucial district matchup and then have Valley Falls at home and close season out at Immaculata.

At the 8-man level its Division II rankings with two teams from the area continuing to be in the rankings as the B&B Falcons and Hanover Wildcats remained top teams in the State. The B&B Falcons moved to 5-1 on the season after taking down the Frankfort Wildcats 54-6 and have rolled off five straight wins since opening the season with a tough loss to Madison and the Falcons are number one in three polls and number two in the other. A break from district play looms for the Falcons this week as the head home for the first time since week one loss to Madison and take on Southern Coffey County. If things work out in the district this week next week's matchup between Hanover and B&B could be for the district title, then wrap up the regular season at home versus Blue Valley-Randolph.

The Hanover Wildcats are ranked fourth in three polls and third in another, after improving to 4-1 this past week with a 50-0 win over Axtell. The Wildcats continue district play this week taking on Blue Valley-Randolph in a crucial district matchup and then have B&B at home the following week and wrap up the season at Frankfort.

Fellow TVL team the Clifton-Clyde Eagles continue to receive votes in 8-Man Division I level polls, posting a 5-1 record to this point in the season and sitting atop their district with Osborne who they clash with this week. While the Eagles will then have matchups at home against Linn and Word of Life to wrap up the season.

Teams across the State all have their attention solely on one thing now and that is winning district games to earn a playoff spot in their respective classifications.
