With regionals on the horizon the girls golf regular season is coming to a close and three Big Seven League teams competed in the Silver Lake Invitational. Jefferson West, Holton and Santa Fe Trail were three of nine teams that took part in the golf action at Cypress Ridge golf course (9 holes).

Of the three Kanzaland area teams competing in the Silver Lake Invite it was the Jeff West Tigers with the standout performance as the Tigers tallied a second place finish as a team with a combined score of 198, only five strokes behind first place finishing team Topeka-Hayden. The second place team finish by the Tigers was sparked by yet again top five finishes for two of their golfers, in Ally West and Abby Thelan. West took home a second place finish as she shot a 43 on the day, while her teammate Thelan registered a 44 good for third place.

For the other Kanzaland area teams it was a sixth place finish for the Holton Wildcats (231 team score) and seventh place finish for the Santa Fe Trail Chargers (235 team score). Holton did see one golfer finish in the top 10 as Haley Rhule shot a 47 finishing tied for fourth on the day. 

The three Kanzaland area teams all have one more golf tourney before regionals on Tuesday October 9th in Meriden with tee-off slated for 9:00am. Both Santa Fe Trail and Holton will play Thursday at the Basehor-Linwood Invitational and Jeff West will play at the Rossville Invite on Thursday.
