(KTNC)--The Falls City Tigers football team improved to 4-1 on the season, with a 32-0 victory over the Auburn Bulldogs Friday night in Auburn.
The Tigers got on the board on their first possession of the game.
After forcing an Auburn punt, the Tigers took the ball at their own nine-yard line. It took six plays for Falls City to go 91 yards, capped by a 14-yard Brenden Heckenlively touchdown run, and took a 6-0 lead midway through the fourth quarter. The big play of the drive was a 48-yard Jordy Stoller run that got the ball into Bulldog territory.
Stoller got the Tigers on the board again late in the first quarter, when he intercepted a pass by Auburn quarterback Skyler Hopper and returned it 25 yards for a touchdown. The two-point conversion gave Falls City a 14-0 lead after one quarter.
Falls City scored again in the second quarter, when Jack Hartman connected with Stoller on a five-yard touchdown pass with 1:17 left in the first half, to give the Tigers a 20-0 halftime lead.
Falls City added two touchdowns in the second half, one on offense and one on defense.
The offensive touchdown came early in the half, on the first play of the third quarter actually, when Hartman connected with Stoller on a 72-yard scoring pass. The actual pass covered about 20-yards, and Stoller weaved through the defense for the final 52 yards to the end zone.
The final score of the game came in the fourth quarter when Heckenlively ripped the ball out of the arms of an Auburn ball carrier and raced 55 yards for a touchdown.
With the win, Falls City improves to 4-1 on the season. The Tigers play at Louisville Friday night.
Auburn is now 1-4. The Bulldogs next game is Friday night at Johnson County Central.
