Four Kanzaland Area Teams Highlight Week 6 KVA Volleyball Rankings
By Mike Smith

As the volleyball regular season comes to a close, teams are gearing up for the last few regular season tournaments and league tournaments.

The Kansas Volleyball Association has released its week six volleyball rankings and again four Kanzaland area teams are ranked.

Two of the four teams have been mainstays in the ranks in their respective classes as the Centralia Panthers and Baileyville-B&B Falcons are both still ranked in Class 1A-Division I and Class 1A-Division II, respectively.

For B&B they have continually been ranked number one in Class 1A-Division II this season as the defending state champs, the Falcons have soared to a 29-3 record this season with only the Twin Valley League tournament left before sub-state.

Centralia, has been ranked the entire season like their counterpart in the TVL, B&B. The Panthers ranking has bounced up and down this season but they remain in the top five this week checking in at number four. The Panthers have amassed a 28-4 record on the season thus far and quite easily could meet up with B&B on Saturday in the TVL tournament.

Another, TVL team finds themselves in the rankings again this season, as the Washington County Tigers remained at the number three spot in Class 2A rankings. The Tigers have worked themselves to a 29-2 record on the season.

The Tigers, Panthers and Falcons all hail from the TVL and will likely play each other in some capacity in the TVL tournament this Saturday.

One other Kanzaland area team finds themselves in the rankings and its for the second straight week that the Holton Wildcats check in at number five in Class 4A. Wildcats are 19-8 on the season, have wrapped up league play and have two more regular season tournaments before postseason play.
