Frankfort Boys & Centralia Girls Win Frankfort Track Invite

It was a Twin Valley League showdown in Frankfort on Thursday as they hosted track action with four other TVL schools in Hanover, Centralia, Valley Heights and Onaga.

Coming out with the top team performances were the Frankfort boys and Centralia girls. The Frankfort boys took the top spot behind 130 total points, beating out Hanover by 17 points as the Wildcats took second and Valley Heights finished third. Onaga and Centralia boys took fourth and fifth as teams, respectively. For the girls the top spot was won by a wider margin as the lady Panthers of Centralia notched 115 total points to win by 28 points as the Hanover Wildcats took second place and Valley Heights rounded out the Top three. Frankfort and Onaga girls finished fourth and fifth as teams on the day.

Despite not winning the team titles on the day the Hanover Wildcats had the most first place performances with 13 gold medals captured between the girls and boys competition. Leading the charge was Evan Zabokrtsky won sprinted to wins in the 100 and 400 meter dashes with times of 11.72 and 55.99, while partnering with Matthew White, Devin Jueneman and Andrew Bruna to win the 4x100 meter relay with a time of 44.14. Zabokrtsky and White also were part of the winning 4x400 meter relay (3:31.58) team for Hanover, partnering with Trey Loshe and Preston Jueneman. The Wildcats swept the boys relays by winning the 4x800 meter relay also, as Loshe, Michael Jueneman, Adam Zarybnicky and Paden Pralle ran to a time of 9:19. 21. Loshe also picked up the win in the 800 meter run (2:09.75), while Preston Jueneman won the 200 meter dash (23.48). Devin Jueneman also grabbed gold for the Wildcat boys winning the long jump behind a leap of 18'03.50.

For the lady Wildcats it was five gold medals on the day with four coming on the track. The quartet of Riley Doebele, Ali Sedlacek, Ashton Jueneman and Talor Klipp won the 4x400 meter relay (4:35.45), while Jueneman and Sedlacek partnered with Morganne Zabokrtsky and Pamela Zarybnicky to win the 4x800 meter relay (11:22.26). Riley Doebele added a first place finish in the 400 meter dash last night behind a time of 1:07.73, while Paige Doebele won the triple jump (32'07) and Claire Zarybnicky took first in the 1600 meter run (5:56.75).

The Valley Heights Mustangs brought home 10 first place performances with Nicole Weyer and Shelby Vermetten pacing the way with a pair of golds each. Weyer won both the 100 meter hurdles (18.00) and long jump (14'01), while Vermettern tossed her way to wins in the shot put (37'04) and discus (118'11). Skyler Sanders also won gold for the lady Mustangs with a leap of 4'06 to win the high jump, while the team of Sanders, Weyer, DeAndra Woodyard and Taylor Doner posted a time of 56.77 to win the 4x100 meter relay. In the boys action Adrian Pishny, Anthony Edwards and Harrison Blaske each picked up gold winning the 1600 meter run (4:52.55), high jump (5'06) and triple jump (38'03), respectively.

Freshman, Katie Glatczak led the lady Panthers on their way to the win at the Frankfort Invite as she sprinted to the win in the 100 and 200 meter dashes with times of 14.25 and 26.69. Mayda Stallbaumer and Sadie Jones also nabbed golds on the track winning the 800 and 1600 meter runs, respectively behind times of 2:36.80 and 13:28.08. In the field events Liz Hasenkamp and Chelsea Huerter both took home a first place finish winning the javelin (112'09) and pole vault (8'06), respectively. The only Panthers first place finish for the boys came by Joey Ferron who tossed his way to the win in the shot put with a toss of 46'11.50.

Onaga Buffalos had two first place finishes both by Garrett Ames as he swept the boys hurdles winning the 110 and 300 meter hurdles with times of 43.64 and 17.13.
