It was non-league action on Tuesday for Sabetha & Doniphan County as they took on Marysville and Falls City (NE), respectively.

Sabetha Splits with Marysville in Twinbill On the Road

Sabetha & Marysville split a pair of marathon games that featured both teams combining for 44 free passes.  Marysville won game one 7-1 and Sabetha won the nightcap 12-3.

Sabetha had only three hits in the first game with Brandon Poe collecting a pair of hits.  Marysville erased a 1-0 Sabetha lead by scoring four runs in the fourth.  Marysville added three runs in the fifth for the final margin.

Jake Meyer pitched six innings to lead Sabetha to their 12-3 victory.  Meyer allowed two hits and a pair of unearned runs.  Gaven Schumann led Sabetha's seven-hit attack by collecting three hits, including a double.  Schumann was one of four Sabetha players to score two runs and he also added three RBI's.  Sabetha stranded a total 25 runners on the bases in the twin bill - 10 in the first game and 15 in the second game.

The win pushes Sabetha to 2-7 on the season and the Raptors will turn around and be back in action Thursday night when they host Frankfort for double header starting at 6:00pm.

Pitching Leads Doniphan County Past Falls City

A strong pitching performance by Jeffrey Watts paced the Doniphan County legion squad on Tuesday night as they host Falls City (NE) for action and pulled out the 3-0 win.

Watts went the distance in the contest tossing a complete game shutout, surrendering just three hits, while striking out 11 and only faced 24 batters in the contest. Doniphan County offensively got a home run by Nathan Gaarder which proved to be the only run Watts needed, but Doniphan County added few more runs for insurance in the 3-0 win.

The win improves Doniphan County to 2-1 on the season and they will have a quick turnaround as they host Atchison for a League double header on Wednesday night starting at 6:00pm (6:00pm game will be broadcasted on 103.9 KNZA - pending weather).
