Twin Valley League Schools Perform Well at Manhattan Track Invite

Four Twin Valley League schools continued their track seasons at the Manhattan Invitational on Thursday and all four had top notch performers on the day with several Top three finishes. 

The Hanover Wildcats led the way with 12 first place finishes on the day with the relay teams leading the way. The Hanover boys swept the relays with times of 45.50, 3:34.63 and 8:46.06 to win the 4x100, 4x400 and 4x800, while the lady Wildcats also had three golds in the relays behind times of 54.02, 4:26.12 and 11:06.46 to win the 4x100, 4x400 and 4x800. In the boys competition Matthew White snagged gold in the 100 meter dash behind a time of 11.63, while also taking second in the 400 meter dash and Kevin Diederich won the javelin with a toss of 147'03.10, while William Peters leapt to the gold in the high jump (6'0). For the lady Wildcats Riley Doebele took first in the 400 meter dash (1:06.31), while Claire Zarybnicky won the 800 meter run (2:35.90) and Paige Doebele jumped to the triple jump win (32'10.50). 

Hanover that eight more Top three finishes on the day in the boys competition Trey Loshe took second in the 800 meter run, while third place finishes were earned by Michael Jueneman in the 400 meter dash, Daiken Stallbaumer in the triple jump and Carter Bruna in the javelin. On the girls side Taylor Bruna earned a second place finish in the 800 meter run, while Morganne Zabokrtsky and Taylor Klipp each finished third in the 800 and 400 meter runs. 

A quartet of first place finishes paced Linn on the day with three in the girl’s competition as Brooke Diederich won the 200 meter dash (27.95) and Hannah Bott won both the discus (101'08.10) and javelin (112'04.10). Diederich also took second in the long jump for the Bulldogs. For the boys it was Chantz Peters having the best showing as he registered a toss of 43'01 to win the shot put. Shelby Ohlde also had a Top three finish on the day, actually two finishing second in the high jump and third in the 200 meter dash. 

Blue Valley-Randolph had a trio of first place finishes led their performances as Chase Carey raced to the boys 1600 meter run gold with a time of 4:55.02, while Cole Montgomery won the boys 3200 meter run with a time of 10:37.80 and Georgia Hatesohl won the girls 100 meter hurdles with a time of 16.67. Hatesohl also earned a third place finish in the girls 100 meter dash for the Rams, while Amber Innes took second in the shot put and both Griffen Vincent and Michael Wright each earned second place in the boys long jump and discus, respectively. The Rams boys 4x800 meter relay team also notched a third place finish. 

A pair of first place finishes led Frankfort at the Manhattan Invite as Marie Wessel won the girls shot put with a toss of 33'11.10 and also took second in the discus, while Rylen Bailey won the boys pole vault with a vault of 11'0. Twelve second and third place finishes were earned by Frankfort athletes between the girls and boys. In the girls competition the lady Wildcats took second in the 4x800 meter relay and Kaci Vaughn finished second in the javelin, while Maura Kennedy took third in the discus and Tegan Brandt placed third in the pole vault. On the boy’s side Lance Ross earned silver in the shot put, while Ryan Kraushaar took second in the javelin and the Wildcat boys nabbed second place in the 4x100 meter relay and third in the 4x400 meter relay. Anthony Koch notched two third place finishes for Frankfort in the 110 and 300 meter hurdles.
