Only three area schools fall under the umbrella of Class 4A and those three schools all continued their track seasons at the Eudora Regional looking to have athlete's qualify for the State competition next week in Wichitia.
A pair of Regional titles for Big Seven League's, Jeff West Tigers paced them at Regionals as Michael Major with a toss of 50'10.25 won the boys shot put and Mariah Murdie took the gold in the girl’s triple jump with a leap of 36'07.25. Murdie also qualified for State in the 110 meter hurdles with a fourth place finish, while Makenzie Tucker took fourth in the pole vault and Makayla Greene placed third in the discus.
Mason Strader led the State qualifiers for Holton as he took third in both the 800 and 1600 meter runs, while Holly Karn also earned a bronze medal, hers coming the 100 meter hurdles. Will Wright was the lone other qualifier for state for Holton after finishing fourth in the boys 400 meter dash.
Atchison was led by LaMarca Tolbert who took third in the boys 100 meter dash, while Lindsay Anderson placed fourth in the girls discus and the lady Red 4x800 meter relay team also finished fourth to qualify for the Class 4A State competition.
