The annual 8-Man football All-Star games took place in Beloit over the weekend with several area 8-Man football players competing on the East squads for the Division I and II games.

It proved to be a day of plenty of action and two close ballgames with the West squad winning each game as the West won the Division I game 24-20, while the final Division II game was higher scoring with the West winning 42-34.

In the Division II game the Twin Valley League was well represented as Axtell Eagle coach, Eric Detweiler led the team and his quarterback, Colton Buessing was behind center for the game going 21-28 for 248 yards with three touchdowns and three interceptions. It was ultimately the turnovers that did in the East team down the final stretch of the game leading the West to the win. Axtell Eagle, Brice Koch and Frankfort Wildcat, Ryan Kraushaar both were on the East team snagging eight passes for 56 yards and five passes for 95 yards and two touchdowns, respectively. Chase Carey of Blue Valley-Randolph and Nathan Porting of Axtell also competed in the game for the East squad, while Frankfort Wildcat, Jase Suther was also selected to the game but was unable to participate.

The Division I game proved to be a tight contest from wire to wire with both teams trading jabs, down late in the game the East got the ball back with a strong defensive stand but an interception on the drive sealed the win 24-20 for the West. A trio of Hanover Wildcats competed in the game on the East squad as Paden Pralle caught a nine-yard touchdown on a guard eligible play, while Trey Loshe snagged one pass for six yards and Matthew White also participated in the game.
