Headed into the final week of the regular season of action in high school football four area teams find themselves in the rankings this week and several others still getting attention in the polls as the playoffs loom.

The Troy Trojans continue to hold the top billing in Class 2-1A ranked #1 in all the polls as they sit at 8-0 on the year after beating Jefferson County North 38-12 last week to win the District title and assure themselves a playoff spot and first round home game. The JCN Chargers are 7-1 on the season after the loss to Troy and still are alive for a playoff spot entering the final game of the season, while Washington County Tigers beat Wabaunsee 28-15 last week to earn a playoff spot and move to 6-2 on the year, both teams are still getting attention in the 2-1A rankings.

The Hanover Wildcats continue to roll through the competition winning 54-8 over Wakefield last week to move to 7-0 and secure the District title and a playoff spot. Wildcats remain ranked #1 this week across the board in the 8-Man Division II polls. While in 8-Man Division I Clifton-Clyde is 7-1 on the year after a 70-22 win over Onaga last week and await the outcome of the Burlingame at Herington game this week to see if they make the playoffs; the Eagles are still getting attention in the 8-Man DI polls.

Class 3A polls across the State now all feature the Nemaha Central Thunder who are ranked #5 across the board in the rankings. The Thunder are 8-0 on the season after beating Riverside 53-0 last week and won the Big Seven League title with the win, while they will secure a playoff spot and District title with a win this week. Both Sabetha and Marysville are getting attention in the 3A polls as they are putting together strong seasons.
