Holton Wins Boys Golf Big Seven Action With Hiawatha & Perry Lecompton

A trio of Big Seven League boy's golf teams took to the golf course on Friday in Hiawatha to compete against each other as Hiawatha hosted Holton and Perry Lecompton for action. 

Only Holton and Hiawatha fielded full four-man teams and the Wildcats won that competition over the Red Hawks posting a team score of 180, while Hiawatha had a 195 team score. 

The Top two scores of the day came by the swings of Holton Wildcats as AJ Haussler and Ryan Taylor carded rounds of 40 and 45, respectively to take first and second place individually of the 13 varsity golfers in action. Austin Shepley with a round of 46 earned fourth place on the day for the Wildcats, while both Rafe Folk and Riley Shepley were also on the links and shot rounds of 49 and 50. 

Hiawatha Red Hawks were led by Caden Lillie who took third with a round of 45, while Tom Nolte placed fifth on the day with a 47. Jace Grubb, Lukas Holladay and Keenan Hinton were all in action for Hiawatha and posted rounds of 49, 54 and 57, respectively. 

Perry Lecompton had a trio of golfers in action at the varsity level and was led by a 47 which was shot by Christian Schmidt. Trevor Cunningham-Henry and Nick Maloun each posted rounds of 48 and 51 for the Kaws.
