JCN Track Invitational Results (5-5-17) - Girls & Boys

Friday area athletes were off and running, jumping and throwing continuing their track seasons as Jefferson County North hosted seven teams for competition. 

At the end of the day it was the host JCN boys and girls earning first place as teams. The JCN boys posted 247 points winning handily, while Valley Falls just edged ACCHS for second giving the Tigers third. Oskaloosa, Mclouth, Veritas Christian, Immaculata and Doniphan West finished fourth through eighth. JCN girls posted 229 points to win the team title easily also as Immaculata took second, while ACCHS finished third. McLouth, Valley Falls, Doniphan West, Oskaloosa and Veritas Christian finished out the team standings in fourth through eighth. 

The JCN boys won 13 events on the day while the girls snagged seven first place finishes. Joel Abel paced the Chargers on the day winning three events racing to the 300 meter hurdles (44.32) and leaping to wins in the high jump (5'11) and long jump (18'08.75). Charger boys relay teams got the sweep taking first in the 4x100 (45.96), 4x400 (3:42.61) and 4x800 (10:03.80). Three more first place finishes were earned on the track as Knox Tweed, Brayden Summers and Logan Baker won the 110 meter hurdles (17.54), 1600 meter run (5:03.13) and 3200 meter run (11:51.31), respectively. In the field events four more Chargers placed first on the day as Gavin Polson, Jacob Schrick, Ridge Robertson and Braden Schneider won the discus (123'08.50), javelin (160'06), pole vault (11'06) and shot put (43'03). 

JCN lady Chargers just like the boys swept the relay titles on the day winning 4x100 (53.09), 4x400 (4:37.83) and 4x800 (11:47.65), while Annabelle Vaught took the gold in the 100 meter dash (13.41) and Julie Schrick won the 800 meter run (2:41.22). Both Josie Weishaar and Ravyn Jobbins each took first in a field event winning the high jump (5'00) and javelin (106'03). 

Victoria Caplinger and Tucker Smith each won a pair of events for the ACCHS Tigers at the JCN Invitational. Caplinger paced her way to the win in the girls 1600 (6:02.21) and 3200 meter runs (13:39.25), while Smith won boys 100 (11.6) and 200 (24.00) meter dashes. Kayla Vessar also earned a first place finish as she won the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:05.01. 

Immaculata Raiders were led by the performances of Ally Campbell and Jordan Sachse won the girls long jump (15'09) and triple jump (32'11), respectively. 

Valley Falls Dragons had a trio of first place finishers on the day at the JCN Invitational. In the boys competition both Justin Myers and Nathan Pickerel each won an event taking first in the 800 meter run (2:14.51) and triple jump (39'05.50). Sway Schmelzle won the girls 200 meter dash (27.81) for the Dragons. 

Shayna Wilson of Doniphan West continued her strong season on the track sweeping the girls hurdles winning the 100 (17.79) and 300 (49.95) meters. 

McLouth Bulldogs best performances on the day came in the girl’s competition as Sarah Dailey won the discus (105'05) and Maggie Wise took first in the pole vault (7'06).

Oskaloosa had one first place finisher on the day as Jaden Courter earned first place in the girls shot put (34'05).
