Highland lady Scotties softball program has been to the national tournament the last four seasons and coming into this year Scotties Coach Heidi Jordan looks to field what could be another strong team to continue their success this season.

Fresh off a 39-10 season the Scotties will start the year preseason ranked fourth in the NJCAA Division II poll. Lady Scotties last year made the national tournament and went 2-2 in action at the national championship tourney.

Scotties return a pair of NJCAA All-American's from last year's team as sophomores, Kaley Pyles and Holly Willmarth both return at shortstop and outfield, respectively. Pyles was named first team All-American and second team All-conference last year, while Willmarth was second team All-American and first team All-conference. Also first team All-conference sophomore pitcher, Paige Crawford returns for the Scotties this season.

The fourth ranked lady Scotties in the fall season had a chance to play some NCAA Division I level competition and went 5-0 in Concorida against some NJCAA and NAIA level of competition, too. During the 5-0 trip in Concordia, Highland outscored their opponents 70-6 in those five games.

Scotties open the season on February 22nd when they head to Kilgore, Texas for the Kilgore/Cowtown tournament and play their first home game on February 25th against Neosho CC.
