Regular Season Winding Down for Peru State Baseball Team

The outcome was similar to the first time the two teams played as Peru State and Grace University split a baseball double header Wednesday in Omaha.

The Bobcats took game one 3-1 while the Royals gained the split by winning the second game 2-0.

With split, the 'Cats are now 26-14 on the season while Grace is 25-14.

Today and Saturday, Peru State will be back in conference action with an important pair of double headers against Baker University in Baldwin City, Kan.  Presently, the Wildcats are third in the Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC) Western Division behind MidAmerica Nazarene University and Peru State with a 9-9 conference mark.   Overall, Baker is 15-23.  Game time on Friday is 4 p.m. and on Saturday, the double header begins at 2 p.m.

On Monday and Tuesday, the 'Cats will play their last non-conference games of the season.  Monday, Peru State will be traveling to Sioux City, Iowa, to face Briar Cliff University in one nine-inning fray beginning at 4 p.m.  Currently, the Chargers are 15-24 overall.

Nebraska Wesleyan University will be hosting the Bobcats on Tuesday, also at 4 p.m. for a nine-inning contest in Lincoln.  The Prairie Wolves are 6-20 so far this season.

Peru State's final games of the regular season will be on Saturday, April 26.  The 'Cats will be traveling to Marshall, Mo., to face HAAC Eastern Division opponent, Missouri Valley College.  The Vikings are 8-26 overall and are 7-13 in the HAAC's Eastern side.
