Multiple Highland Softball Players Earn All-League & District Honors

For the fifth straight year the Highland Scotties softball program is headed to the national tournament amassing a 40-9 record thus far this season and currently are ranked eighth in the country in the NJCAA Division II poll.

With the regular season and the district tournament both in the rear view mirror the All-KJCCC honor and All-District honors have been handed out and six Scotties earned All-KJCCC honors, while seven earned All-District.

Sophomore, Emma Hill leads the honors for the Scotties as she was named the KJCCC Most Valuable Player on top of being selected All-KJCCC and All-District first team. Hill leads the Scotties in multiple categories this year touting a .497 batting average with 73 hits, 79 runs scored and 62 stolen bases, all team highs.

A pair of sophomore outfielders in Taylor Hatfield and Holly Wilmarth also earned All-KJCCC and All-District first team honors like Hill. Hatfield has pitched and played in the outfield for the Scotties this season, posting a .402 average thus far with 40 RBI's, 49 hits and 11 homeruns, while Wilmarth leads the team in homers with 15 and has 61 hits, 59 runs scored while batting .415 on the season.

Kaley Pyles, Paige Crawford and Emily Clontz all earned second team All-KJCCC honors with Pyles and Crawford being named first team All-District and Clontz second team All-District. The sophomore shortstop, Pyles leads the team in RBI's with 60, while batting .371 and registering 49 hits and 48 runs scored. Crawford has been the key contributor on the mound for the Scotties pitching 112 innings thus far this season with a 1.81 ERA and 91 strikeouts, while posting a .250 batting average offensively. Freshman outfielder, Clontz has put together a strong season, also posting a .426 batting average with 60 hits, 58 runs scored, 48 RBI's and leads the team in walks with 23.

Freshman, ShyAnne Robinson also earned postseason honors earning first team All-District at Battery as she is batting .474 this season with 27 hits and 17 runs scored.

Scotties will continue their season starting May 14th at Traceway Park in Clinton, Mississippi for the NJCAA Division II National Tournament.
