The Frankfort volleyball team entered the 1A-I regional #1 tournament as the 13-seed. It was the lowest seed of the regional tournament.
It didn't matter as the Wildcats would sweep their quad with wins against host Sylvan-Lucas, Beloit-St. Johns, and Burlingame to advance to sub-state Saturday.
The Wildcats would have two come from behind three set wins against Bishop Seabury in the semifinals and top seed Rock Hills in the championship to punch their ticket to Dodge City.
Head Coach Vicki Adams highlighted her 6-player rotation of Ashlyn Dalinghaus (SR OH), Tessa Parthemer (JR OH), Savannah Jackson (SR MB), Loralei Loiseau (SR MB), Mylee Haug (JR Setter/RS), and Shayne Anderson (SO Setter/RS).
According to Adams, Dalinghaus is the glue, Jackson is the best "pick me up" player, Loiseau is the heavy hammer, Parthemer is a versatile athlete, Haug is another versatile athlete, and Anderson as heavily improved in all aspects of the game.
Frankfort's pool play matches at the state tournament in Dodge City will be against Little River, Centralia, and Goessel on Thursday.
