Ben Handke

It's been a record breaking season for Atchison County junior Ben Handke on the track. 

In a recent meet at Riverside, Handke broke the school record in the triple jump with a mark of 43'-4.75". The previous record had held up since 1982, which means that mark held for 44 years. 

He finished 16th place at state last season in the triple jump with a jump just north of 39' which shows the major improvements he's made from last year to this year. 

ACCHS track coach Brian Malm: "With age and experience comes maturity and Ben has matured quite a bit and quietly stepped into some leadership roles in our program. I think by the end of his high school career he would like to triple jump at least 45 feet and have an opportunity to compete collegiately."
