Frankfort Wildcat, Jase Suther Does It All For Frankfort in Season Opener

The Frankfort Wildcats opened the football season reaching half their win total after week one with a come from behind win against fellow Twin Valley League team in Clifton-Clyde, as Frankfort won 38-30.

Looking to replace the workload of some key seniors from the previous year and open the season with a positive note after a tough off-season that say the Wildcats loss a pair of players to injuries, the Wildcats put things together and earned the win.

Helping spur the way to the win for Frankfort was junior, Jase Suther who took over the game contributing in every facet possible. Suther’s presence statistically was felt the most in the backfield on offense as he shoulder the load sprinting around the field for 217 yards on 19 carries and four TD’s. The junior posted a 11.4 yards per carry average on the night and all four of his TD runs were 30+ yards going 32, 35, 47 and 62 yards.  Jase’s offensive showing and rush total amounted to 64% of his rushing total as a sophomore last year when he posted 337 yards on the season, and his four TD’s in the win totaled TD output as a sophomore from last year.

Suther’s presence wasn’t just felt on offense for the Wildcats in the 8-Man bout against Clifton-Clyde as Jase lined up on defense at linebacker and led the team in tackles with 19 on the night. On top of his offensive and defensive performance Jase also punted and kicked for the Wildcats.

Junior, showcased he will be shoulder to lean on and leader for the Frankfort Wildcats for the football season as they look to bounce back from a two-win season last year and make a run at the playoffs in a new district.
