Zane Richter

The Jackson Heights Cobras head into the holiday break after a 3-1 start to the season striking their way to wins over Immaculata, Pleasant Ridge and Oskaloosa on the season.

Last week the Cobras picked up a pair of wins on the road dispatching Pleasant Ridge, 65-45 and topping Oskaloosa, 68-41. One key contributor to the early success of the Cobras on the court under new Head Coach, Chris Brown has been the play of junior, Zane Richter who hasn’t scored below 23 points all season.

Richter went to work last week against Pleasant Ridge posting his first double-double of the season tallying 23 points, grabbing 13 rebounds, while adding two assists, one steal and one block to his final stat line on the night. Zane followed that up with a 25 point performance in the Cobras win over Oskaloosa on the road adding nine rebounds, three assists and one steal.

To open the season Richter tallied 25 points against Immaculata in a 50-27 win, while scoring 23 points in the Cobras lone loss of the season against Maur Hill-Mount Academy. On the year the junior is averaging 24 ppg, 8.3 rpg, 1.5 apg and 1.8 spg, while shooting 40% from the floor, 33% from three-point land and 77% from the charity stripe.

The Cobras have struck early this season with offense averaging 58 ppg as a team and Zane has been an integral part to the success on the court.
