B&B Falcons Football Flying High After 8-Man DII State Title
B&B Falcon Football Team

Success is not a foreign thing to B&B athletics and especially the football team as they enjoyed yet again another stellar season this year capturing the 8-Man Division II state title this season with a perfect 13-0 record. Falcons beat Thunder Ridge 28-6 to capture the 8-Man DII State title.

Falcons success over the years has been predicated on the true concept of a team as the Falcons have used that true team mentality to succeed on the football. That team mentality was truly exemplified this season by B&B with every facet of the game: offense, defense, special teams and coaching playing a key integral part to the team's success this season.

This season it was a balanced attack on offense as the team averaged 124.1 passing yards per game and 185.5 rushing yards per game, while putting up 45.8 points per game on average this season. While, junior quarterback, Dustin Rottinghaus and senior fullback, Dustin Deters saw a lot of the action on the offense it was a mixture of other juniors and seniors that stepped up game in and game out throughout the season. Guys like Brandon Bergman, Tyler Deters and Cameron Haug made plays in the passing and rushing attack of the Falcons. While, up front Curtis Stallbaumer, Jason Haverkamp and Cole Deters led the way all season winning the battle of the trenches game in and game out.

2012-13 B&B Falcon Football Team 8-Man DII State ChampionsOn defense, the Falcons were balanced yet again pitching six shutouts on the season, while only giving up 9.5 points per game this season. On defense there was a multitude of players all throughout the season, also with different guys stepping up all the time. All the guys on offense played an integral part on defense, as did many others. Along the defensive line to go along with Stallbaumer and Haverkamp was Blake Reinecke who wreaked havoc all season in the opponents backfield. Joining, Dustin Deters in the linebacking core was Cole Deters and Gage Leishing who both continued to make plays all year, while sophomore, Derek Mueting was a crucial part to the defense bring is impact playmaking skills. In the secondary Rottinghaus and Tyler Deters were there but perhaps the best defensive back on the Falcons was Dave Macke who seemed to flying all over the field making plays.

Special teams and of course coaching were great this season, too leading to the teams success as Head Coach, Justin Coup consistently with his assistants made great calls this year. Coup in his second season at the helm of the Falcons now as a 25-1 record and a state title.

B&B Football has truly been a staple of success with a 63-2 record over the last five seasons, going to five straight state championship games and winning three of them (4 total state titles in school history).
