Centralia Panther, Dustin Talley Puts Up Big Games for the Panthers
Dustin Talley

After a pair of rough losses the Centralia Panther boys jumped back into the win column with a pair of big wins last week beating Troy and Clifton-Clyde.

While multiple guys stepped their game up last week for the Panthers leading to their wins at home the play of senior, Dustin Talley was right there at the front of those performances. Talley in the win against a fellow top Twin Valley League team in Troy tied for a team-high 18 points in the Panthers 68-50 win, against the ranked 2A Trojans. Dustin filled the stat sheet not only with his points but in every other category too against Troy grabbing 13 rebounds, and recorded three steals six assists and two blocks, while shooting 7-12 from the field and 4-4 from the line.

While the week finished out with Centralia routing Clifton-Clyde 60-31 and Talley posted a season-high 20 points and continues his monster week with seven rebounds, a steal, three assists and one block, also. Talley also once again had a strong night from the floor going 8-12 from the field and 3-3 from the free throw line.

The 11-5 Centralia Panthers rank second in the Class 1A-Division I KBCA rankings and have enjoyed a strong season and Talley has been a key piece to that success this year. The senior is averaging 10.9 points per game, around six rebounds per game, close to two steals per game and 1.5 assists per game. Talley has posted double figures in nine of the teams 16 games this season.

The Panthers are on the prowl to finish out the regular season strong and gear up for the postseason and Talley along with his teammates will look to continue their success last week and earlier this season to make a run in the postseason.
