Centralia Panther, Cassidy Haufler Packing Punch for Centralia Volleyball

Winning has been a customary thing for Centralia Panther volleyball for quite some time and this year has been no different as they Panthers are 37-0 this year after winning their fifth straight TVL Tournament title.

Centralia has battled adversity this season with injuries and such but several players have stepped up all year to keep the train moving for the Panthers. One of those players that has stepped up her game has been senior, Cassidy Haufler who has put together a monstrous season including a strong performance at the TVL Tournament.

Panthers went 3-0 in pool play at the TVL Tournament to start the action on Saturday with straight set wins over Clifton-Clyde, Valley Heights and Linn and Haufler notched 10, 15 and eight kills, respectively in the matches. In the Semifinals Centralia took down Washington County in straight sets and Cassidy registered nine kills, an ace, three blocks and 11 digs. The Championship match was a tough contest for Centralia as the Panthers lost the first set against Hanover but bounced back winning two sets to win the match in three and Haufler had a monster match with 25 kills and added a pair of aces, three blocks and 11 digs. For the tournament the Centralia senior tallied 67 kills, five aces, 13 blocks and 49 digs in five matches.

On the year Haufler has been right at the front of the success of the Panthers this season with her teammates right along with her. Cassidy has 427 kills on the season (5.3 kills per set) with a 41.9% hitting percentage. While Haufler leads the teams in kills, she also leads the team with 50 aces, ranks second in blocks on team with 59 and third on the team in digs with 308 on the season.

Behind the play of Haufler and her teammates the Panthers are on the prowl for one best seasons in school history as they won the TVL tournament and regular season titles, along with three other tournaments this year and have their sights set on more.
