Lexia Jamison

Top notch billing in any competition is not easy no matter the sport but the lady Perry Lecompton Kaws were able to be the top team at the Class 3A cross country Regional at Council Grove and qualify for State as a team.

The Kaws just edged Southeast of Saline by one-point to take the 3A Regional crown and leading the way was a gal that has led Perry Lecompton the last few years, senior, Lexia Jamison. Jamison ran to the second best time on the day at the Regional in Council Grove posting a time of 20:37.40 to take the silver and help her team win the Regional title.

Jamison has been running well all year with several Top 10 finishes including a second place finish at the Big Seven League meet (21:04) while the Kaws took second as a team at the League meet, also. The senior also earned a fourth place finish at the Holton Invite (22:49) and sixth place at the Pleasant Ridge Invite (22:15). She also competed at the annual Rim Rock Invite with several top flight runners in the state and in the Blue race finished 16th out of 251 runners posting a time of 21:08.90.

The season continues and wraps up on Saturday back in Lawrence at Rim Rock for Jamison and the Kaws as they look to compete for a top finish and Lexia looks to put a final stamp on her high school cross country career in a strong way.
