Jeff West lady Tigers laid claim to the Big Seven League title as they closed out the regular season with a win over Perry Lecompton to assure at least a share of the League crown and then with some help from Hiawatha as the Red Hawks beat Holton the Tigers got the Big Seven title to themselves.

The team closed out the regular season on a five-game winning streak and in the final three games junior, Alyssa Garza was a strong force for the Tigers posting three of her seven double figures games this season. In regular season finale against Perry Lecompton Garza posted a season best 18 points going 9-14 from the field adding 10 rebounds, three steals, one assist and one block in a Tiger 57-34 win. Against Hiawatha on the road a 48-40 win Garza posted 16 points missing only one shot on the night going 7-8 from the floor, while adding six rebounds, two steals, one assist and three blocks. While in the 59-50 win versus Royal Valley the Tiger junior recorded 17 points with 13 rebounds, three steals and a block.

On the year Garza has been a strong piece to the success of Tiger team full of experience and helped the team win the Big Seven title while posting a 16-4 record overall and 14-2 League mark. The junior has filled the stat sheet in many ways averaging 9.2 points per game along with 5.6 rebounds, 1.8 steals and one block per game while shooting 63% from the floor.

The attention now turns to the postseason for the Tigers as they will host a 4A-Division II Sub-State and look to capture two more wins to earn a spot at the State tournament.
