Casi Van Ausdall

After finally getting the softball season underway last week after several postponements the Holton Wildcats opened up the year with 19-1 and 18-0 victories over Sabetha starting the season 2-0.

Leading the charge was senior shortstop, Casi Van Ausdall who started the season blistering hot from the plate going a perfect 9-9 from the plate in the two games combined. Van Ausdall notched four extra base hits with a pair of doubles, a triple and home run while scoring six runs and posting six RBI’s.

The Holton Wildcat senior last year in her junior campaign led the team in several categories earning All-Big Seven League first team honors. Van Ausdall posted a .474 average with 36 hits and 33 runs scored all marks that led the team, while posting 14 RBI’s and nine extra base hits.

Van Ausdall plans on continuing her softball career after high school as she plans to attend Allen County Community College to continue her athletic career.

While the future holds more softball for Casi she is focused on performing strong for the Holton Wildcats on the diamond in her senior year as the team looks to compete in the Big Seven League.
