Nemaha Valley Raider, Jaci Swart Sparking Lady Raiders in 3 Straight Wins
Jaci Swart

After starting the season off with a relatively tough stretch of games before the holiday break the Lady Raiders of Nemaha Valley went into the holiday break with a 2-4 record, but after a break from the action the Lady Raiders have churned out three straight wins post holiday break to move above .500 on the year at 5-4.

While the Raiders have been balanced scoring wise the entire season, recently its been 5'8 sophomore, Jaci Swart shouldering the load and leading the way coming out of the holiday break as she's posted double figures in all three wins for Nemaha Valley, averaging 14.3 points per game during that stretch.

Raiders opened the second half of the season with a 52-33 win over Royal Valley and it was Jaci Swart tallying 16 points to help pace the way in that home victory for the Lady Raiders. The 16 points is Jaci's season high and was only the second time she'd scored double figures this season, but that changed with the next couple of games.

Swart didn't stop their continuing the scoring as the Lady Raiders cruised past the Lady Redhawks of Hiawatha on the road 50-23. Swart this time lead the team in scoring with 15 points on the night for Nemaha Valley.

In the last contest for the Lady Raiders they hit the floor on the road again this time against Jeff West and down going into the fourth quarter fought back with a 10-1 fourth period to dispatch the Tigers, 38-34 for their third straight win. For the third straight game it was Jaci Swart's presence on the court again that played a factor as she lead the Raiders with 12 points on the night.

On the season, Jaci is posting a line of eight points per game, three assists per game and five rebounds per game, while that stat line may not jump off the page at you it's her recent stretch of scoring that shows you she can be a go to scorer for the Lady Raiders but perhaps her best attributes include her tenacity and fearlessness on the court. Swart continually makes hustle plays for Nemaha Valley that are unmeasurable via stats, while being a great rebound at her 5'8 size in amongst taller players in the paint every night, to go along with her steals capability.

Nemaha Valley Lady Raiders have propelled themselves off to a fast start to the second half of the season moving to 5-4 on the year behind a 3-0 record in their last three, with sophomore Jaci Swart helping lead the way.
