Hiawatha Red Hawk, Elizabeth Kettler Is Off and Running in Cross Country

Now in her junior campaign Hiawatha Red Hawk, Elizabeth Kettler has picked up from where she left off last year as she has started the 2017 cross country season strong.

Last week Kettler raced on her home course at the Hiawatha Invite and behind a time of 20:11.22 earned first place individually winning by over a minute on the day out of 41 runners. While the lady Red Hawks as a cross country team earned first place winning by 22 points.

Kettler opened up her cross country season with a time of 21:10.97 at the Holton Invite and won the competition taking first out of 58 runners. The Hiawatha junior won the race by over 1:30 and the lady Red Hawks also took first as a team winning by 44 points.

Over her first two years Kettler has registered two Top five performances at the Class 3A State competition finishing second last year (19:23.80) and fifth as a freshman, while the Red Hawks took second as a team each year.

Sights are set on another strong year for Kettler running, while she partners with her teammates to make it a strong year for the Hiawatha Red Hawks overall.
