Kramer Leads Centralia to Class 1A State Tournament
Morgan Kramer

Just six years ago the Centralia girls ran the table and captured a state basketball championship with a record of 25-1 and a 19-point win in the championship.

On Saturday evening the Panthers punched their ticket back to state for the first time since 2017 with a thrilling sub-state win over Twin Valley League foe Frankfort in the championship 69-66.

That win came after big-time performance from senior Morgan Kramer who led the Panthers with 30 points in the Panthers semifinal victory over St. John/Tipton.

She followed that up with eight points in the championship game and although her point total wasn’t there, she did everything else by rebounding and setting up shots for fellow teammates.

On the year the Kramer is averaging just under 15 points per game while pulling down just under four rebounds per game along with dishing out three assists.

She is also shooting over 72 percent from the free throw line while shooting near 50 percent from 3-point range and just under 40 percent from the floor.

Last season Kramer was named a first team all-Twin Valley League selection while as a sophomore earned a second team selection.

Kramer will now look to lead the Panthers to a Class 1A State Title this week as Centralia drew the seventh seed with a 18-8 record and will take on unbeaten Cunningham in round one Thursday afternoon at 3:00 with live coverage on 92.1 KMZA.
