Heading into Friday night, the Wetmore football team had gone three weeks since their last game thanks to a two-week team quarantine and a cancellation of their game with Onaga due to a positive test for the Buffaloes.

But the Cardinals got back on the field Friday night and used a big night from senior Kael McQueen to pick up their first win of the season taking down Blue Valley 68-32.

McQueen was an absolute stud all night long, finishing with 268 yards rushing with seven touchdowns while catching a score and converting a two-point conversion to account for 50 of the Cardinals 68 points.

He was just as great defensively where he recorded 21 tackles to go along with an interception and a sack.

Through just three games McQueen has compiled 356 rushing yards with seven touchdowns while catching nine passes for 146 yards and two more scores.

He leads the team in tackles with 51 stops adding four tackles for loss, two sacks and one interception.

McQueen will look to build off his big game and go up against tough test this week as the Cardinals are set to host Axtell Friday night.
