Wahwassuck Hits Clutch Shots and Leads Royal Valley to 2-0 Week
Nahcs Wahwassuck

Through three games so far in the 2020-21 high school basketball season, the Royal Valley boys have played one possession games each time and have found a way to go 2-1 through those three games.

Leading the way for the Panthers has been one of the best players in the state in junior Nahcs Wahwahsuck who has averaged 24 points so far this season including a 32-point night and game-winning 3-pointer late in Friday’s 67-66 win over Riverside.

He opened the season with 19 points in Royal Valley’s 52-49 loss to St. Marys and then followed that up with 22 points in the Panthers 50-48 win over Jeff West.

This comes after a strong sophomore campaign where he averaged 16.5 points, 5 rebounds, 3 steals and 3 assists per game.

Wahwahsuck was named first team all-state last season by the Toepka Capitol Journal and Sports in Kansas, earning him plenty of Division I interest with nearly two full years remaining in his high school career.

Nahcs will have plenty of opportunities to showcase his talents with big games across the board in the Big 7 League and looks to lead Royal Valley to a league championship this season and a possible berth in the Class 3A State Tournament.
