Rock Port Bluejay, Eric Duncan Soars Through Air to Lead Rock Port Track
Eric Duncan

It was a jam packed Panthers Classic this past Friday with 14 schools having competitors in action but the best individual performance easily went to one performer on the day with Rock Port Bluejay junior, Eric Duncan tallying four gold medals.

Duncan soared through the air to his success on the day completing the trifecta win by sweeping the jump competitions of long jump, triple jump and high jump. Eric took home all three crowns in impressive fashion; he grabbed the long jump title with a leap of 20-09, over 2 and half feet better than second place. While, the triple jump was the closest of three field event wins, as he registered a 42-4.5 jump to grab the win by just under a foot.

The high jump perhaps the highlight of the entire Panthers Relays as Duncan crushed his competition winning by eight inches, but his leap of 6’6 didn’t just earn him gold medal, but a meet record to go along with it.

His day didn’t stop there as Duncan took to the track and made it four gold’s at the Panthers Relays by winning the 100 meter dash behind a time of 11.64.

The juniors, performance on the day nearly helped the Bluejays notched a first place finish as a team as Rock Port fell two points shy of St. Joseph Christian in the team standings and took home a second place finish.

Four gold’s, a meet record and second place finish for his team a solid day for junior, Eric Duncan who’s making a name for himself in track and field for Rock Port.
